On December 12, the International Education and Development Academy hosted another webinar focusing on the volunteer activities of various organizations. The speaker for this session was Pavle Tvaliashvili, a dedicated volunteer with a remarkable career. Pavle began volunteering during his school years, where he led a chess club. In 1999, he established the non-profit organization Georgian Association of Educational Initiatives, where he has volunteered for 25 years.<\/p>\n

Between 2007 and 2013, Pavle Tvaliashvili volunteered as an information representative for the Council of Europe Youth Programs (Youth, Youth in Action, and European Voluntary Service). Since 2003, he has been involved with the ENO (Network of Environmental Schools) and, since 2004, with the Living Values Education Program, progressing from a teacher to the Country Coordinator and facilitator of international copyright projects. He has also been part of one of the oldest global networks, iEARN.<\/p>\n

In 2006, alongside Tea Lobzhanidze, he co-founded CISV Georgia, a member of the international peace education camps network, volunteering for this organization for 17 years. Tvaliashvili also served as the elected President of Rustavi International and held roles in Rotary International, including Assistant Governor and Vice Governor of District 2452. Since 2014, he has volunteered with the UWC Schools Georgia Committee and organized the Diamond Challenge program at Delaware State University.<\/p>\n

The topics discussed during the webinar included the intersection of volunteerism and professionalism, the resources volunteering offers organizations, and the scope of projects involving volunteers. This webinar was part of IEDA’s campaign to promote its training course “All About Volunteering \u2013 For Representatives of Organizations.”<\/p>\n
