About This Course
The course “All About Volunteering” is designed for people interested in volunteering. The course provides an opportunity to prepare for starting or developing volunteering activities. Within the framework of the course, you will learn about issues related to volunteering, such as the definition and types of volunteering, values related to volunteering, and modern ethical norms, knowledge, and skills necessary for volunteering, you will learn what rights a volunteer has and what volunteering opportunities exist, both in Georgia and abroad.
The course is divided into two parts. The first part is designed for any person or organization interested in volunteering, regardless of previous experience or knowledge. After completing the first part of the course, you will be able to:
Recognize volunteering and distinguish its types;
Plan your volunteer activities, both independently and with the support of organizations.
The second part is intended for civil society and commercial organizations interested in implementing volunteering programs. After completing the section for organizations, you will be able to:
Determine the organization’s capabilities to implement volunteer programs;
Determine the organization’s needs for volunteering and plan appropriate steps.
The course material includes thematic lectures, practical assignments, surveys, literature reading, and useful sources. To successfully complete the course, it is important to watch and listen carefully to the video lectures, complete practical assignments, and interact with other course participants.
The course material is organized in a sequence that interconnects each subsequent topic. Accordingly, it is important to complete all sections in the appropriate sequence.
